Until the early 1980s, this popular, good-value bar was a branch of the Bank of Scotland. It’s been known for former account holders to call by, proudly brandishing their original withdrawal cards. These days, it’s well worth investing some time in a pub where you can bank on a friendly welcome, good company and a fine pint of Belhaven Best or Belhaven IPA. The Old Bank Bar attracts a loyal band of regulars as well as a city-centre mix of shoppers, football fans and students, many of them lured in by the promise of great meal deals.
